About Hon Daniel P Collins
<p style="text-align:justify"><strong>DANIEL P. COLLINS</strong> was appointed a Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona, effective as of January 18, 2013. He became the Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Arizona on March 17, 2014. Immediately prior to taking the bench, he was a shareholder of the law firm of Collins, May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie, P.C., located in Phoenix, Arizona. He received a B.S. in finance and accounting (1980) and J.D. (1983) from the University of Arizona. He started his legal career with the law firm of Rawlins, Burrus, Lewkowitz & Feinstein, P.C., practicing primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial litigation and commercial transactions. Dan served on the State Bar of Arizona Subcommittee on the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act. He served as chairman of the Bankruptcy Section of the State of Arizona and was a Lawyer Representative to the 9<sup>th</sup> Circuit Court of Appeals. He was granted the St. Thomas More Award in 2017. Dan is presently an At Large Governor of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute, on the Board of the Phoenix Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is a member of the University of Arizona Law School’s Board of Visitors. He is a member of the Arizona Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, State Bar of Arizona, and Maricopa County Bar. Dan and his wife raise their 5 children in Phoenix.</p>
