<p>Justice Mansfield received his undergraduate degree from Harvard in 1978, and his law degree from Yale in 1982. After completing law school, Mansfield clerked one year for Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. From 1983 until 1996, Justice Mansfield worked for Lewis and Roca in Phoenix. In 1996, Justice Mansfield moved to Iowa and joined Belin McCormick in Des Moines. In 2009, Justice Mansfield was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals and, in 2011, he was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court where he serves today. Justice Mansfield also teaches as an adjunct at Drake Law School. Justice Mansfield is married and has three children.</p>
