<p style="text-align:justify">Mr. Gutiérrez has lived in Phoenix since 1962 and has been in private practice since 1984. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Arizona State University. He graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1983. He represents seriously injured people who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others. He also represents families in connection with wrongful death claims. Mr. Gutiérrez has represented clients at the Arizona Supreme Court and the Arizona Court of Appeals. He has represented thousands of clients in personal injury cases that were successfully brought to settlement with the insurance companies. He has also tried many cases before juries in the Maricopa County Superior Court and has also been involved in over 100 arbitration hearings. In addition, he has tried over 50 cases to the court in the Phoenix Municipal Court.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Mr. Gutiérrez believes in giving back to his community. He was appointed by Arizona Governor Bruce Babbitt to serve on the State Board of Psychologist Examiners in 1984 and served until 1993; he served as chair of the board for two years. He has been a presenter at the Arizona Association for Justice (AzAJ) Advanced Trial Advocacy Conference. He represented Arizona and Nevada as the Regional-President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) from 1998-2002. He was president of Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993-94 and was on the board of directors for over fifteen years. He has served on the board of directors of the Arizona Association for Justice (formerly the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association) and was a member of the State Bar of Arizona Appointments Committee. In addition, he served on the Phoenix Police Department Hispanic Citizens Advisory Board from 1997-2000. He also coached the Arizona State University Law School Moot Court Team for the HNBA Moot Court Competition in Chicago in 2002.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">Mr. Gutiérrez was board chair, and currently a board member, of the Los Angeles based National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), the NHMC is devoted to increasing and improving portrayals of Latinos in television, film and media. He is a founding board member and current chair of the board of Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center (ALAC) in Phoenix, Arizona.</p>
