<p>I have forty five (45) years of experience in intellectual property (IP). I passed USPTO Patent Agent Examination given in December of 1980, and was admitted in the summer of 1981. I was first admitted to the practice of law in 1981, in Minnesota. I was admitted to the Arizona bar twenty (20) years ago, in 2006.</p> <p>I currently work with clients on patents, trademarks and copyrights, including counseling and litigation of IP cases. I have been the filing correspondent on well over 5,000 U.S. trademark and service mark registrations. I have handled about nine hundred (900) proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). A large number of those proceedings were resolved quickly. Two cases I handled at the TTAB were so significant that were marked as &ldquo;Citable as Precedent of the TTAB.&rdquo; Very few cases achieve that designation. I have tried jury cases in Federal Court from California to New York. I have been &ldquo;Counseling the Creative since 1981.&rdquo; My firm has been doing that since 1900.<br /> <br /> I also serve as an expert witness in trademark cases, and as a neutral for alternative dispute resolution matters. I am a mentor, coach and trusted advisor to lawyers within and outside of my firm. I am proud to still have the same job I started back in 1981. I have lived and worked full time in Arizona since 2014. I am passionate about my family, astronomy, cars, art, wine, skiing and the law. I welcome expert witness engagements on trademark, licensing and advertising matters. I am currently licensed in Arizona and the USPTO.</p>
