About Mr John C Churchill
<p>Mr. Churchill was raised in Connecticut, where his ancestors settled in 1638. He served in the U.S. Navy as a crewmember on anti-submarine patrol bombers from 1967 to 1973. After completing active duty he attended Arizona State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. English, with distinction) in 1972, and Law Degree (Juris Doctor) in 1982. </p> <p>Prior to practicing law Mr. Churchill was a flight instructor and airline pilot, and he holds an airline transport pilot (ATP), instrument and multiengine flight instructor, and advanced ground instructor ratings. He has over 10,000 hours of flight time and remains an active aviator, and regularly flies his Piper “Twin Comanche” aircraft.</p> <p>Mr. Churchill joined the Arizona Bar Association in October of 1982, and promptly moved to Parker, Arizona, where he established a thriving “country lawyer” practice. He resides on the “Parker Strip” on the Colorado River north of Parker.</p> <p>Mr. Churchill has had an active appellate practice and has successfully taken two cases to the Arizona Supreme Court: <em>Powell v. Washburn</em>, 211 Ariz. 553, 125 P.3d 373 (2006), and <em>Jackson v. Chandler</em> 204 Ariz. 135, 61 P.3d 17 (2003).</p> <p>When not travelling with his wife Joann and dog Penelopea, Mr. Churchill restores, drives and shows 1960’s automobiles.</p> <p>In anticipation of retirement, Mr. Churchill has reduced his office hours to Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and he is no longer accepting civil litigation cases.</p> <p> </p>
