<p>Kevin Koelbel earned a B.S. in mathematics and a teaching certificate from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1984. After graduation, he became a licensed home-improvement contractor and worked with his father on Long Island as a custom woodworker.</p> <p>In 1992, Kevin moved to Arizona. He earned a J.D. degree from Arizona State University in 1995. He is admitted to the Arizona Bar, the Arizona District Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.</p> <p>When Kevin began practicing law, he represented employees in a variety of cases, including employee benefits, discrimination, and wrongful termination cases. Over the years, he narrowed his field of practice within these areas. In March 2016, he joined Ober & Pekas and further narrowed his focus to disability benefits. These benefits are typically provided by employers and fall under ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), but may include employer-sponsored plans that are exempt from ERISA or privately purchased policies.</p> <p>At Ober & Pekas, Kevin works with Erin Ronstadt, Esq. and their talented team of paralegals to help clients secure disability benefits. They cans assist you at the administrative appeal level, trial court, and the court of appeals.
