About Mr Mark E Lassiter

I am a business lawyer focusing in dispute resolution, and a professional arbitrator, mediator and neutral.

As a lawyer, I am a California and Arizona AV Rated®, Southwest Super Lawyer® and a sustaining member of Arizona’s Finest Lawyers ™ with over 36 years of experience as a civil trial attorney focusing in Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR"), Business, Real Estate, Construction, and Technology litigation (80%) and related transactions (20%). I do not handle “consumer legal matter” arising out of personal, family or household matters. I am a business lawyer who represents companies and business professionals. I have handled a wide variety of legal matters, including business disputes and transactions arising from: commercial breach of contract claims; breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition and other business torts; construction contract claims; technology and software licensing agreements; computer technology and/or software disputes; securities law violations; employment compensation and covenant not to compete disputes; business buy-sell and sale of business disputes; dissolutions of corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies (“LLCs”); “business divorce” disputes among partners, shareholders, members and other business principals; business insurance coverage disputes; real estate and construction disputes arising from private commercial, industrial, retail and residential construction projects; disputes arising from real estate purchase and sale contracts, commercial real estate leases, IRC §1031 tax deferred exchanges, escrows, and the co-ownership of real property. I have considerable experience in provisional remedies and emergency relief (e.g., injunctions, receiverships and pre-judgment asset seizures), and in electronic evidence discovery of Electronically Stored Information (“EED/ESI”) matters.

As an ADR "resolutionary," I think of revolutionary ways to resolve disputes between adverse parties as a professional neutral. I have been a commercial arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) for 28 years, and serve on its Commercial, Construction and Large and Complex Case panels. I also serve on the arbitration panels of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (the “ICDR”) and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (the "NADN"). In 2016 I was inducted as a Fellow into the prestigious College of Commercial Arbitrators. I am also a mediator for the AAA and the NADN. The Maricopa County (Phoenix) Superior Court appointed me as a receiver (2005) to take over the affairs of a law firm embroiled in a dispute amongst its partners, as a special master (2006) in a limited liability company dissolution matter, and as an eDiscovery Special Master (2019).
