About Mr Reid C Pixler

I first began the practice of law in Colorado in 1976 and became the District Attorney for the Seventh Judicial District from 1985 to 1989. My family and I moved to Phoenix in 1989 where I became an Assistant United States Attorney, specializing in Civil Asset Forfeiture. The purpose of the RICO law was to disable criminal enterprise and provide the proceeds of such criminal conduct to more beneficial applications such as restitution for the victims of these crimes. I retired in 2013 from the Department of Justice and began similar work for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, retiring on January 7, 2022.

The above photograph was taken while I served as a volunteer in Iraq between 2006 and 2008. I served the DOJ as a Resident Legal Advisor and the State Department as the head of the Rule of Law Team for a Provincial Reconstruction Team or PRT. Among several duties I also served as an Advisor to the Head Judge of the Iraqi legal system. To protect trial judges who ran the criminal trials of terrorists my team and I created a program of traveling judges called Task Force Zorro, which was incredibly successful and which was replicated in many provinces and in Baghdad. I chose this photo because I believe that my service in Mosul, Iraq, while my two sons were also deployed as soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, was the most important service to my country that I contributed in my life time. It is displayed in honor of many of my friends and colleagues who did not make it home.
