<p>Steve is the managing member and a mediator for California Dispute Resolution Professionals LLC, a firm specializing in the mediation of civil litigated cases throughout Southern California and Arizona. Steve holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Dispute Resolution with a Concentration in Mediation from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, CA, earned his J.D. at Marquette University Law School, and his B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University. From 2017-2019 he served as Director of Professional Outreach at Pepperdine Law. As an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pepperdine Law&rsquo;s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution since 2017, he has taught Negotiation Theory and Practice. His work as a trial and appellate lawyer representing private, institutional and government clients for several decades included appointment as a County Corporation Counsel in his native Wisconsin. As an Assistant Attorney General, he later represented Arizona&rsquo;s Department of Revenue in statewide-importance tax cases involving the valuation of airline, mining, telecommunications and other utility property. In subsequent appointments as an Arizona Assistant Attorney General and Chief Counsel, he led a team of lawyers pursuing civil racketeering and other financial remedies against criminals and criminal enterprises, conducting highly complex multi-week trials and arguing several dozen appeals in recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for distribution to crime victims and law enforcement agencies, the team receiving several national and international awards for excellence in law enforcement and financial remedies. In nearly a decade of private trial and appellate law practice, Steve represented clients in cases involving breach of contract, real property title, negligence and other tort, broker liability, civil rights discrimination, wrongful discharge, and public employee whistleblower protection. From 2017-19, Steve served as President of the Pepperdine/Straus American Inn of Court for Dispute Resolution, a Los Angeles professional organization of attorneys and dispute resolution professionals affiliating with more than 30,000 lawyers, judges, professors and other legal professionals nationally from all levels and backgrounds who share a passion for excellence, civility, professionalism and ethics. Steve is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the California Lawyers Association, Mediation.org, and the Association for Conflict Resolution. </p> <p> </p>
