<p>Since retiring from the Maricopa County Superior Court in 2007, Mr. Sheldon has focused his practice primarily on mediation (in civil and family law cases), Parenting Coordinator work with the family court, acting as a Discovery Master in both family law and civil cases, and as an Expert Witness in Family Law legal malpractice cases. <br /> <br /> Prior to his retirement in July 2007, he was assigned to Family Court, where he served for 6 years. He was actively involved in the Family Court&rsquo;s Mental Health Committee and was the Chair of that committee for three years. He also served on Special Assignment (1999-2001), handling difficult and complex civil and criminal cases, and presided over civil (1994-1999) and criminal calendars (1989-1994). <br /> <br /> He attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1974, cum laude. He was admitted to the Arizona Bar and the Federal District Court for Arizona in 1974 and was in private and public practice before joining the FBI in 1977. From 1977 to 1982, he was a Special Agent with the FBI, specializing in criminal and foreign counter-intelligence investigations. When he left the FBI, He joined the Arizona Court of Appeals as a Staff Attorney, where he was the Vice Chief Staff Attorney prior to his appointment to the Superior Court.</p>
