I was a law professor for more than two decades at three different law schools, specializing in Civil Procedure and Pretrial Practice and all areas related to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) (including ADR, mediation, mediation advocacy, etc.) I am a trained mediator and have mediated cases at the local, state, and federal court levels in three states, and have trained hundreds of mediators. I am the author of numerous articles and a book entitled “Litigating in Federal Court: A Guide to the Rules,” (2d ed., 2014, Carolina Academic Press). I also have practiced law, including serving as a federal district court law clerk, an employment and commercial litigator in the Washington, D.C. office of a large, national firm, and the Litigation Section Chief of the Civil Rights Division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. I am admitted to practice in Arizona, California, Ohio, and D.C.</p>
