<p>Carol A. Soderquist earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Arizona State University College of Law. She was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1998, and to the federal bar in 2000 by the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and admitted to practice in New York state in 2013. <br /> <br /> Her practice strengths are negotiating and rapidly solving complex cases. Ms. Soderquist's litigation experience involves a wide spectrum of mental health matters, as well as issues involving family law and probate.<br /> <br /> She believes that out-of-court settlements are the most cost-effective means of resolving most disputes. Nevertheless, she possesses the resolve and tenacity to litigate if alternative resolutions fail. Ms. Soderquist served as a judge <em>pro tem</em> and as a Parent Coordinator/Special Master for the Maricopa County Superior Court. In addition to being a lawyer, she is licensed as a private fiduciary by the Arizona Supreme Court. <br /> <br /> Ms. Soderquist was a past Chair (2003-2004) of the Arizona State Bar&rsquo;s Mental Health & Elder Law Executive Council. <br /> She has presented numerous Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on mediation, probate, mental health and family law. She participated in a presentation for the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL), on the controversy surrounding the term "Parental Alienation&rdquo; and whether &ldquo;Parental Alienation Syndrome&rdquo; should be included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM), 5th edition, published by the American Psychiatric Association. In April of 2012, Ms. Soderquist addressed the child psychiatry residents at the Weill Cornell Medical College of New York Presbyterian Hospital, on the topic of expert testimony and cross examination of the forensic child psychiatrist. </p>
