About Ms Hope N Kirsch
<p>Hope Kirsch is a founder and managing partner of the education law firm Kirsch-Goodwin & Kirsch, PLLC, which serves students and their families throughout Arizona in disputes with schools. Hope is a licensed special education teacher and worked in the New York City public schools for 18 years as a special education teacher and school administrator. She uses her experience in the classroom as well as her trial experience to assist clients with IEPs, 504s, discipline (suspensions, expulsions, MDRs), mediation, OCR Complaints, Due Process Complaints, mediation, and appeals. </p> <p>Hope earned a B.S., <em>cum laude</em>, in Special Education from Boston University (1975), an M.A.(Ed.) in Special Education from New York University (1977), and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School (1991) where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. She is admitted in the state and federal courts of Arizona, New York and New Jersey, and the 9<sup>th</sup> Circuit Court of Appeals. </p> <p>Hope began her law career as a Judicial Law Clerk in Essex County (Newark), New Jersey, and then joined a New York/New Jersey insurance defense firm handling complex litigation, environmental claims, attorney malpractice and general liability in the state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey. Upon her move to Arizona in 1999, Hope continued as a litigation attorney practicing general liability, construction defect and attorney malpractice as a partner at Broening Oberg Woods & Wilson. </p> <p>Hope has an <strong>AV Preeminent® Rating, Martindale-Hubbell (5.0 out of 5.0)</strong> by her peers and judges, the highest possible rating for an attorney for both ethical standards and legal ability. She is a nationally recognized special education attorney and is frequently invited to present to and train parents, educators, advocates and attorneys throughout Arizona and around the country.
