About Ms Jennifer J Maldonado
<p>Jennifer Maldonado’s career in litigation spans across four decades, beginning as a law student prosecuting criminal cases through the Pima County Attorney’s Office in 1998. Since becoming a member of the Arizona bar in 1999, Jennifer has prosecuted criminal cases as a Deputy County Attorney at the Pima County Attorney’s Office, as an Assistant United States Attorney at the United State’s Attorney’s Office in Tucson, and now as a Deputy County Attorney at the Navajo County Attorney’s Office in Northern Arizona. Jennifer has also worked as a private criminal defense trial lawyer at the Law Office of Jennifer Maldonado and as a civil litigator in a small boutique firm in Tucson. Jennifer has completed over 60 criminal jury trials, several hundred criminal bench trials, and countless evidentiary and legal hearings in a wide variety of criminal cases including DUI, drug trafficking, firearms offenses, alien smuggling, domestic violence offenses, and more. </p> <p>In addition to her many years of working in a courtroom as a litigator, Jennifer has also worked as a judicial law clerk for a trial judge in Pima County in 1999-2000, served as an “Ares Fellow” teaching assistant for a legal writing course at the University of Arizona College of Law in 1997-1998, and earned the “Outstanding Oral Advocate” award for her performance in moot court as a law student in 1997. Jennifer has taught courtroom testimony and demeanor courses at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center and at the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, and completed the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy through the Arizona State Bar in 2022. After serving as a volunteer trial judge in the Regional Arizona High School Mock Trial competition in 2023, Jennifer assisted The Gregory School’s mock trial team in its preparation for the State competition in 2023, and was later hired by the school to serve as a coach for the 2023-2024 Mock Trial season.
