<p>Vicki Gotkin has practiced law since 1981 in both Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.</p> <p>Vicki’s career encompassed disciplinary law, employment, health, mental health, appellate, higher education, and private practice, including litigation. She served as a Staff Bar Counsel for the State Bar of Arizona, prosecuting complaints against attorneys for ethical violations, was an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Section and and represented the Arizona State Hospital in its Civil Division. As Senior Associate General Counsel at the University of Arizona for nearly 20 years, Vicki represented the health sciences colleges, drafting policy and advising administrators on policy and the law. Her practice at the University encompassed employment, health, mental health, higher education, and disciplinary law, and litigation assistance to outside counsel. She lectured in the College of Medicine’s second-year curriculum, provided graduate student lectures in the University’s Department of Psychology, and regularly conducted training for administrators, faculty members, medical residents, and students. She was a contributing author to two editions of <em>Pharmacy Management, Leadership, Marketing, and Finance</em> textbook.</p> <p>After retiring from the UA, Vicki opened her private practice, concentrating on employment, estate planning, elder law, guardianships and conservatorships, and higher education matters. She retired from private practice in 2018 and now assists the Pima County Attorney’s Office’s Fraud Unit.</p> <p>Vicki has served on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance on Mental Health as its Secretary, served as a Board Member for Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona, and has also served as a Reading Seed Coach through Literacy Connects. Vicki continues to give lectures for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. </p> <p>Vicki is a retired member of the State Bar of Arizona. She is also a member of the District Court for the District of Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, <em>cum laude</em>, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting from The University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, <em>cum laude</em>.</p>
