About Randall David Nice
Randallis a seasoned attorney handling all aspects of the healthcare industry. His practice includes structuring entities to comply with the Stark law and the prohibition on the corporate practice of medicine; analyzing operations for compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act; contract drafting; healthcare mergers & acquisitions; and representing professionals and businesses before government entities. He enjoys leveraging his extensive legal research skills to help clients navigate the healthcare regulatory field. Randall is a former judicial law clerk for the Arizona Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court, Randall conducted extensive legal research on numerous issues encompassing a large variety of practice areas and wrote memoranda making recommendations on matters before the Court. He later joined the appellate unit of a large insurance defense firm, conducting legal research and drafting substantive motions on issues ranging from wrongful death and municipal liability to criminal matters such as murder and aggravated assault. Randall graduated Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Arizona James E. Roger’s College of Law where he obtained certificates in Business Litigation and Transactional Business law. While in law school, Randall participated in the school’s moot court competition where he received the Award for Excellence in Brief Writing. He was then selected to be part of the school’s National Moot Court Team. He was also a member of the Arizona Law Review where his note, Reviving the Lost Tort of Defamation (61 Ariz. L. Rev. 205), was published in 2019. His note won the school’s award for “Best Published Note” and later won a Law 360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award from the Burton Awards. Prior to his law career, Randall served as a sheriff’s deputy in Southern Arizona for eleven years. Randall’s extensive career included assignments in DUI, motors, canine, and as a tactical flight deputy in the air unit. He received extensive training in the area of DUI and accident investigations. Randall was a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor and taught other officers, in both classroom and field settings, how to conduct DUI investigations. He also completed traffic investigation courses from Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety. Additionally, Randall took courses in civil liability for law enforcement and completed his department’s SWAT certification course. Randall is also a proud veteran, previously serving overseas as a United States Marine. In law school, he also took part in his school’s veterans’ clinic—helping veterans participate in Tucson’s veterans court as well as helping veterans with discharge upgrades.
