Education: Shawn graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado State University in 2005 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky Law School in 2008. Experience: Shawn has been practicing law in Yuma since 2008. He has drafted over 5000 wills/trusts and has extensive experience with trust administration, probate, and ALTCS/Medicaid matters. Professional Services : Shawn has bee a Partner of Deason Garner & Hansen, since 2013. He has been a licensed Financial Advisor with Wealthcare Financial , since, 2016. He is also the co-founder of the real estate brokerage firm, DGH Realty. Professional Licenses: In addition to being licensed to practice in Arizona State and Federal Courts, Shawn is a licensed financial advisor (Series 65, Series 66, Series 7), insurance agent, public ficuciary, and realtor. Professional Involvement: Shawn has presented over 100 seminars to the public on elder law topics, and is a frequent speaker for attorney continuing education courses. He hosts of a weekly radio show - Life Death and the Law. He is on the Probate and Trust Executive Council for Arizona State Bar, where he has served as Secretary and Committee Chair Elect. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and serves on on the Board of the Arizona Chapter of NAELA as its Secretary. Personal: Shawn was raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. He is married with six children. He enjoys practicing permaculture techniques on his small family farm, camping, boating, and off-road adventures in the desert.
